Council is currently planning and implementing safety and transport improvements to sections of Mt Lindesay Road between Legume and Woodenbong with the assistance of joint funding provided by both the Australian and NSW Governments. The sections being considered are at varying stages of development with some works having already commenced and other sections are nearing completion of the design stage.
Mt Lindesay Road is a vital connector from the Southern Darling Downs to the Northern Rivers of NSW and improved safety and transport efficiency is the focus of the upgrade of the road, with works occurring between Legume and Woodenbong.
The first stage has been completed with the final seal placed over a 2.4 kilometre section near Yellow Gully. The second stage, involving the upgrade of the Legume intersection and the 100 metre section of road immediately to the east of Legume will be completed with linemarking by October 2019. Design work is being finalised for the remaining stages of work.
