Media Release - Bruxner Park Lights Up

New lighting in Bruxner Park was turned on this week just in time to reflect the coming Festive Season.

In September, Council voted to install LED decorative lighting to trees in Bruxner Park for a trial period and to consider LED lighting of Rouse Street trees between Molesworth and Miles Streets subject to funding and feedback from the community.

The Council resolution called for the lights to run with solar power however the recommendation of the supplier was to instead use the 24v power connected to the existing Park lighting power infrastructure, all of which is subject to timer control.    The supplier explained that this was due to the variable recharge power availability with solar, issues of reliability, and the desired level of visibility.

Council is keen to know how the community feels about the ambience of the Park and the aesthetic improvement, and whether the community would like to see a bit more of this in the main street, subject to funding availability.

Feedback can be provided by way of a form which is available at the front counter of the Administration Building or on Council’s Engagement website, tent.engagementhub.com.au
