Kyogle Council will be carrying out replacement of Hootons Bridge over the Clarence River on Hootons Road commencing 20 May 2020. Hootons Road will be closed to all traffic for the duration of the work which is expected to take four months to complete.
What: Construction of new bridge
When: 7.30am Wednesday, 20 May 2020 to 4pm Friday, 18 September 2020
(subject to weather conditions)
Where: Hootons Road, 15km from Clarence Way
Why: A new concrete bridge will be constructed to replace the existing timber bridge removing the need for the current 9 tonne rigid and 12 tonne semi-rigid load limit.
