COVID-19 – Public Library Services

Tenterfield Shire Council is continuing to review health advice regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and has put in place changes to meet guidelines for public safety. These guidelines have been implemented to ensure Council staff are available to meet the needs of the community throughout the crisis, with community and employee safety front of mind.

From Monday, 14 December 2020, Opening Times will be 10.00 am to 5:00 pm – Monday to Friday.  It is essential that you contact Library staff on 6736 6060 or email to book computer time.  High risk residents wishing to use the Library can do so between 9.00 am – 10.00 am, Monday to Friday by appointment only.


Special Events at the Tenterfield Public Library

Small community groups are encouraged to enquire about what the Library can offer them in the way of resources and informal meeting spaces.


Children’s Storytime – Beginning Thursday, February 10th 2022 at 10.30 am 

  • Storytime for ages 0-5 years
  • Stories, rhymes and craft
Sessions are held every Thursday at 10.30 am (during school term)


Summer Reading Club at Tenterfield Library

  • For all pre-school, primary and secondary aged children and young adults
  • Program runs from Monday 6th December 2021 until Friday 31st January 2022.
  • The theme for this year is Uncover and Discover!
  • The programme is open to children from ages 0 to 17 and participants will receive a book mark, and participation information when they register.
  • The programme will conclude with a presentation on Monday 7th February 2022 where prizes of Cinema tickets will be handed out.
