Sesquicentennial Celebrations

Council was excited to celebrate the Sesquicentennial of the Municipality of Tenterfield on the historic day, November 22nd 2021, with the official unveiling of the Sesquicentenary Building Plaque and Celebratory Book launch on the front steps of the Council Administration Building, 247 Rouse Street, Tenterfield.

With Covid-19 restrictions and lock downs throughout the year, the Steering Committee of the Celebrations pieced together a small celebration. Three former Mayors along with current Mayor, Peter Petty and Carmel Cook JP, attending on behalf of Hon. Janelle Saffin MP, officiated the unveiling and launch.

These formalities were followed by a walk thru of the newly refurbished Tenterfield Emergency Management Centre, at the front of the Council Administration Building.

Council would like to acknowledge the hard work behind the scenes of the Committee and assistance by staff and volunteers from within our great community.

The Sesquicentenary Book was launched during the afternoon. All Pre-orders are now ready for collection and book sales are available from Customer Service and via the form below.
