MT LINDESAY ROAD UPGRADE

Mt Lindesay Road is a vital connector from the Southern Darling Downs to the Northern Rivers of NSW and improved safety and transport efficiency was the focus of the upgrade of the road, with works occurring between Legume and Woodenbong.

Stages One and Two of the $24 million project have been completed.

Work on Stages Three, Four and Five are underway with earthworks, drainage and pavement construction planned for completion in June 2022.

Motorists are advised to obey roadwork signage along the route and drive with caution.

 

ROAD CLOSURE/ROADWORKS

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY ROAD/BRIDGE CLOSURE

Leeches Gully Road, Bridge over Washbrook Creek

In accordance with Section 15 of the Roads Act 1993, notice is hereby given that Tenterfield Shire Council will be undertaking bridge replacement works on Leeches Gully Road, Tenterfield, however due to adverse weather delays, works may continue for six months. The bridge is located approximately 925 metres from the intersection of Mount Lindesay Road and Washpool Creek Road.

The road will be closed to all traffic during this time. Access will be from either Mount Lindesay Road or Washpool Creek Road.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY ROAD/BRIDGE CLOSURE

 Boorook Road, Boorook

Residents are advised that Tenterfield Shire Council is undertaking bridge replacement works on Boorook Road, Boorook, however due to adverse weather delays, works may continue for one to two months. The bridge is located approximately 10.77 kms from the intersection of Bruxner Highway and Boorook Road.

Council has constructed a side track for continued access during the works. Residents are advised to proceed with caution and obey erected signage.

Mt Lindesay Road

In accordance with Section 115 of the Roads Act 1993, notice is hereby given by Tenterfield Shire Council as the Roads Authority that changed traffic conditions will apply to Mt Lindesay Road, between Legume and Woodenbong.

Works are continuing in 2022 on Stages 3, 4 and 5 of this project.  Works will be undertaken between the hours of 6.30am and 6pm and may involve weekends.

The works will involve Council and its contractors utilising plant and machinery for the duration of the works including road widening and rehabilitation.

Road users may experience delays of up to 15 minutes and are requested to pay particular attention to the advance warning signposting and directions of on-site traffic controllers.
