YOUTH PRECINCT UPDATE #7
Tenterfield Shire Council’s new Youth Precinct, fully funded through the NSW Government’s Public Spaces Legacy Program and Streets as Shared Space grant, in the Old Power House Reserve is starting to get closer to completion.
If you have walked or driven past the park lately you will see it is starting to look finished. The team has been working really hard and are nearing completion with finishing works to take place over the next couple of weeks. Please remember the Youth Precinct is still an active construction site, please do not enter until all construction fencing has been removed as there is a risk of injury until everything is officially complete.
This week has seen the remaining concrete footpaths installed and gardens starting to be planted out. The Pump Track has nearly been completed with just the line marking remaining. Park furniture, bins, water bubblers and shelters have been installed with shelter roofs to go in over the next few days. The Skate Park had its final concrete pour and is now awaiting sealing to ensure the surface does not get damaged when finally open for use.
Next week will see the final elements on the Skills Track being completed, yarning circle placed and car parks sealed. The final finishing works and site clean will then commence the following week.
The Container Café was placed last week and café furniture is being installed over the next couple of days. The EOI for the running of the café has officially closed however Council will be accepting late submissions until COB Wednesday 7 June 2023.
