AgSkilled Program Expands Opportunities for Local Agricultural Workforce
Local farmers, workers and agribusinesses are encouraged to explore new training opportunities through the NSW Government’s AgSkilled program, which has received a $15 million funding boost to support delivery over the next three years.
AgSkilled provides practical, hands-on training across key agricultural sectors including livestock, horticulture, grains and fibre. The program is designed to equip participants with job-ready skills, without the time and financial commitment of full qualifications.
Importantly for regional communities, the program delivers training where and when it is needed most, aligning with seasonal work and expanding access across regional and remote NSW.
The program has already demonstrated strong outcomes, with more than 2,300 participants completing over 770 courses across 188 locations in 2024–25, achieving a 96 per cent completion rate.
This expanded investment will help ensure the agricultural sector has access to a skilled and adaptable workforce, supporting productivity, resilience and long-term growth.
