NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE - ROUSE STREET NORTH
In accordance with Section 115 of the Roads Act 1993, notice is hereby given that Tenterfield Shire Council, as the Roads Authority, will be undertaking causeway replacement works on Rouse Street North.
The closure will be in place approximately 670 metres north of the New England Highway (Cowper St) and Rouse St intersection. Causeway crossing is expected to be closed for 2 months.
Closure Details- Road closure begins: Monday, 1 June 2026 (weather permitting)
- Expected duration: Approximately two months (weather permitting)
- Detour / local access: Residents north of Ghost Gully will be able to access town via:
- Old Ballandean Road and Washpool Creek Road, or
- Old Ballandean Road and Mount Lindesay Road
Static signage will be in place at both ends of the closure, with additional signage at the worksite to ensure the safety of road users and to prevent access across the causeway.
