Planned Power Outage | Thursday 28 May 2026
Council advises the community that Essential Energy will undertake planned electricity network works in Tenterfield on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
Temporary power interruptions are scheduled between 9.00am and 4.00pm.
The planned outage is necessary to allow Essential Energy crews and contractors to safely complete upgrades and maintenance to the electricity network.
The following areas including Council facilities and infrastructure are expected to be affected:
- Federation Park lights, Petrie Street
- The Pool (Memorial Baths), Rouse Street
- Rotary Park kiosk and toilets, Rouse Street
- Sports Complex, Petrie Street
- Sewerage Pumps, Petrie Street
- Water Tower, Pelham Street
- Additional areas of Rouse Street and possibly nearby streets.
Community members are encouraged to prepare for the outage by:
- Switching off and unplugging sensitive electrical appliances
- Storing enough water if using electrically powered water pumps
- Avoiding unnecessary opening of fridges and freezers during the outage
