TRAFFIC ALERT: WHITE SWAMP ROAD CLOSURE FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT WORKS
Tenterfield Shire Council advises that White Swamp Road near Koreelah will be temporarily closed to through traffic from Saturday, 26 September to Monday, 5 October 2026 (inclusive) to allow Council to replace drainage pipes beneath the road. The closure will be located approximately 5.1 km north of the Mount Lindesay Road intersection. Local access to properties will remain available from each side of the closure point.Local access and detour information
Road closure
White Swamp Road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the works at the pipe replacement site near -28.3588, 152.4426, approximately 5.1 km north of the Mount Lindesay Road intersection.Residents north of the closure
Access will be maintained from the northern side of the closure. A detour via Head Gate Road, Border House, White Swamp Road, Spring Creek Road and Border Road will be required to travel towards Killarney. Please refer to the detour map below.Residents south of the closure
Access south towards Mount Lindesay Road will remain available. Local access will be maintained up to the closure point.Local property access
Property access on each side of the closure will be maintained from the respective side of the closure point. Road users should allow additional travel time and follow all temporary traffic control and detour signage in place. Council thanks residents and road users for their patience and understanding while these necessary pipe replacement works are completed. Residents north of the closure: Travel north on White Swamp Road to Head Gate Road, then via Head Gate Road / Border House, the short White Swamp Road section, Spring Creek Road through The Head and The Falls localities, and Border Road near Killarney.
